Japan Travel Money Guide: Exchange, ATMs & Stores

Choose a city or find a place near you.

How information is prepared and checked

GoCashMap helps travelers locate ATMs and currency exchanges in Japan. The operator collects source material and reviews photos, text, coordinates and sources before applying corrections. Field verification is shown separately with a recorded visit date.

A recent collection or edit date does not confirm that a branch is open today. Unknown fees, limits and current opening status are not estimated. Corrections submitted from a branch page enter a review queue.

How to search

  1. Choose a city or use your location.
  2. Filter ATMs, exchanges, banks and brands.
  3. Select a place, check its source, then open directions.

How do I find nearby ATMs and currency exchange in Japan?

Choose “Near me” and allow location access to find locations within 1 km. You can also select a city and use the map or list without GPS. Select a location to open Google Maps walking directions.

Can I withdraw yen with a foreign-issued card at a Japanese ATM?

Seven Bank, Japan Post Bank and E-net publish international-card guidance, but conditions vary by card, machine and time. A bank or store pin does not confirm foreign-card acceptance at every ATM. Check the ATM screen and your issuer.

Does the convenience store brand identify its ATM operator?

Store and ATM locations use separate records. FamilyMart may have Famima ATM, E-net or Japan Post Bank machines. A store name alone does not establish its ATM operator or withdrawal fees.

Which convenience stores can I find?

Identifiable 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Lawson and MINISTOP locations from OpenStreetMap are listed. Current opening, 24-hour access and ATM installation require separate confirmation.

Are exchange rates the same at every counter in Japan?

Interbank and World Currency Shop publish cash quotes with different conditions and date labels. For Interbank visits, check reservations at its Shinjuku, Tokyo store. Online-only prices are not treated as counter prices, and missing publication years or times are not inferred.

Are airports and source dates checked separately?

Travel coverage is not an administrative boundary. Narita, Kansai and New Chitose airports are outside the Tokyo, Osaka and Sapporo city coverage. Collection dates are not field visits; hours are source-listed.
